Trauma, whether from the past or present, impacts us all in ways that we may not always understand. The lyrics from this song came about after the singer had a flashback of an instance from her past where she escaped a kidnapper after watching an unsolved mystery show. Out of the blue, she was hit with a memory that her mind had buried, but it has impacted every decision and action since it occurred without her realizing it. We are all a little broken in so many broken ways.
